Do You Want to Know About my Friend? Children's school compositions are always the source of amazing and cute stories. Today, some of the grade 6 students from SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Bakoteh, the Gambia, would like to share the essays they wrote about their friend. Dorcas, 11-year-old girl "Pullo is the name of my friend. She was born in 1992 in the capital city of the Gambia and is an SOS child. She is a chocolate coloured girl about my height and we both are in grade 6 at SOS Hermann Gmeiner Lower and Upper Basic School Bakoteh.Pullo is the kind of person who is very friendly to others. She does not get angry very often. However, when she is angry, nothing can stop her from doing what she wants. Her hobbies are playing football and talking. We are different in character because I only talk when I have something to say. But my friend Pullo, she talks all the time, invites herself in conversations she was not invited in and disturbs the class. But I still like her because she is helpful and friendly!" Ousainou, 13-year-old boy "My friend's name is Alhajie. He was born in America in 1993. He is short and black in colour.Alhajie likes playing football and plays well. He often makes the team win. He also performs well to pass his exams. He is good to me and normally talks little in class. He is also good to others and does not like fighting or insulting others. He is not hard to people and usually plays and jokes with everybody. He likes doing funny things and I guess this is why people enjoy him so much!I like him because he is good and kind to me and to others. We usually share many things." Fatou, 11-year-old girl "My friend's name is Binta. She was born in the Gambia in 1993, in the capital city hospital. She is attending SOS Hermann Gmeiner Lower and Upper Basic School, in grade 6, just like me.She is brown in complexion and has brown eyes. She has yellow teeth but she is beautiful, healthy, smart, honest and kind. As her hobbies, she likes football, basketball and tennis. She also likes jumping up and down in the class, like a monkey coming from the bush. Her behaviour is worse than mine, as she always disturbs the class and likes quarrelling. However, we are similar in the way that we both like to work independently.Even though she is noisy, I like her because she is kind, honest and smart. She would share anything she has with me and others in the class, and I also like her for that!"
