Aid distributed so far includes food, medical and water supplies. A team of psychologists is about to start working with children affected by the natural disaster.
A few days ago, the SOS relief team made a second visit to communities in the areas worst-affected by the flooding. During the three-day visit, the team stopped in La Barquita (located close to SOS Children's Village Los Mina), La Descubierta, Jimaní and Nagua, and distributed 318 boxes of clothes, shoes, kitchenware, blankets, towels, food and drinking water to families in need.
SOS Children's Villages has also formed a team of psychologists to provide support to children suffering physically and emotionally as a result of the natural disaster.
The training, which was carried out by World Vision, is now complete and the team will soon start visiting the affected areas and working with those in need.
