First of 100 Chevrolet cars handed over to SOS Children's Villages

23/02/2011 – As part of a European partnership between Chevrolet, who currently celebrate its centenary, and SOS Children's Villages, Chevrolet Europe has commenced its donation of 100 cars. The first of which was presented in Serbia on February 22.

The reigning Miss Serbia, Milica Jelic, and Ljubisa Simovic, the mayor of Kraljevo, were present when Vesna Mrakovic, the Director of Children's Villages Serbia and of the SOS Children's Village in Kraljevo, received the keys to a new Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 liter LT in Olympic White. Vesna Mrakovic was accompanied by 16 children from the SOS Children's Village in Kraljevo.

The car will be used by seven social workers and child psychologists and five volunteers working for the Family Strengthening Programme of SOS Children's Villages in Kraljevo.

Increasing employees' mobility

"We are proud to support this recently started family strengthening programme in Kraljevo by providing a new Chevrolet Cruze that will increase the employees' ability to visit the 35 vulnerable families in the area that include around 70 children," said Andy Higgins, Managing Director of Chevrolet in Central and Eastern Europe.
