ODDSET donates Advertising Space in World Cup Stadiums
08/06/2006 - The 6 villages for 2006 campaign will be promoted at the 64 games of the World Cup in front of an audience of billions both in the stadiums and watching on television. ODDSET, one of the national promoters of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, has given its advertising space to SOS Children's Villages.
Following a ruling of the German Federal Constitutional Court, ODDSET, the part of Lotto that handles sports betting, is no longer able to advertise in stadiums. This is why ODDSET has decided to support 6 villages for 2006 as a 2006 FIFA World Cup™ official charity. Advertising boards with advertisements in German and English now show the logo of 6 villages for 2006. "The World Cup is a global event, which is followed by billions of people. We've now got a unique opportunity to make billions of people aware of the plight of abandoned children and the invaluable work of SOS Children's Villages. We are extremely grateful to ODDSET", said Georg Willeit, Executive Director of the German SOS Children's Village association SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit.
The President of the Bavarian state lottery administration Erwin Horak, who is responsible for the work with SOS Children's Villages added: "We are delighted that this valuable and exclusive advertising space can now be used by a renowned charitable organisation such as SOS Children's Villages."
The President of the Organising Committee Franz Beckenbauer welcomed the cooperation between ODDSET and SOS Children's Villages. Once again, he praised 6 villages for 2006: "I think that it is a remarkable campaign. ODDSET has made a virtue of necessity and is putting the World Cup slogan 'A time to make friends' into practice".
