Premiere Charity Auction for the "6 villages for 2006" Campaign
29/11/2005 - The German television broadcaster Premiere's beneficiary auction starts on 1 December, the proceeds of which go to the 6 villages for 2006 campaign. Over 250 different autographed items from the world of sports and film as well as many exclusive events with well-known personalities are to be auctioned at www.premiere.de/charity.
The auctions will run until 23 December and will be personally supported by Franz Beckenbauer, Marcel Reif, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Erich Kühnhackl, Erkan & Stefan and Roberto Blanco, among others. Its patron is Ottmar Hitzfeld, who won the World Cup and the UEFA Champions League, among others, as coach.
"Children are the most vulnerable in our society. They need our help. The construction of the six SOS Children's Villages in Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam has meant that many children in need have a new start in life. I hope that the Premiere charity campaign will mean that the suffering of many children across the world will be eased. What could be better than helping children?" explained Ottmar Hitzfeld.
The highlights of the charity auction are an opportunity to meet the "Emperor" Franz Beckenbauer during the Premiere golf trophy in Mallorca, to watch a Bundesliga (German premier league) top game direct from the commentator's box with Marcel Reif or a walk-on role in an Erkan and Stefan television clip. The top highlight is the opportunity for a football team to have a training session with Ottmar Hitzfeld.
All of the proceeds from the Premiere charity campaign go to the 6 villages for 2006. 6 villages for 2006 is both the slogan for the campaign and SOS Children's Villages' target for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany. By the end of the football World Cup six new SOS Children's Villages are to have been built in Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam. 6 villages for 2006 is also the official charity campaign of the Football World Cup 2006.
