Stella McCartney teams up with SOS Children’s Villages
SOS Children’s Villages will benefit from designer Stella McCartney’s new ‘Maleficent’ children’s collection, which has received worldwide publicity. Stella McCartney Kids will donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the Maleficent collection from the company’s shops and on-line store.
McCartney’s new collection is inspired by Disney’s forthcoming retelling of Sleeping Beauty, in which Angelina Jolie stars in the villainous role of Maleficent and Elle Fanning plays Princess Aurora.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did. When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance,” said McCartney.
The Maleficent by Stella McCartney Kids collection includes eight styles for boys and girls aged 4 to 14. The range includes princess-like dresses and sandals, t-shirts and trainers.
The collection will be available at Stella McCartney stores worldwide at the end of April. Maleficent opens in cinemas on 30 May 2014.
