Esprit currently supports six SOS Children's Villages family strengthening programmes in India. These programmes help to keep families intact by providing education and medical care, among other means of support. One of these programmes, the new SOS Children’s Village in Alibaug, was financed entirely by Esprit. The village contains 14 family houses for up to 140 children whose parents can no longer care for them, for a variety of reasons.

Since beginning its work India in the early 1960s, SOS Children’s Villages has raised 15,000 children, many of whom have grown up to become doctors, engineers, and professionals, said Rakesh Jinsi, National Director of SOS Children's Villages in India.
