SOS & GE / BHGE “Mount Kenya Challenge”

"The Mount Kenya Challenge" is a partnership between SOS Children’s Villages International- Gulf Area Office and General Electric / Baker Hughes, a GE Company (GE / BHGE) with the goal of raising awareness and funds for orphaned and abandoned children under the care for SOS Children's Villages.

In July 2019, GE/BHGE volunteers climbed Mount Kenya to raise funds and make a lasting impact on the lives of the children living in the SOS Children’s Villages in Lebanon and Egypt.

All donations will be dedicated to support two projects, the integration of Syrian Refugee Children in SOS Children’s Village Sferai, Lebanon and the back to school campaign in SOS Egypt.
 
The campaign will also impact children living in SOS Alexandria and provide them with educational scholarships and necessary school supplies. All the donations of the GE employees will be matched by the company.



The GE campaigners and employees have successfully collected more than 100,000 AED using YallaGive fundraising platform. The campaign was approved by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) under permit No. 2059
