MBC Al Amal and SOS Children’s Villages join hands to host charity Suhoor

Dubai, UAE (May 28, 2018): In the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, SOS Children’s Villages International, Gulf Area Office in partnership with MBC Al Amal, the corporate social responsibility arm of the largest and leading private multimedia company in the Middle East and North Africa “MBC Group”, will host a charity Suhoor on Monday 28th of May, 2018 sponsored by the Sofitel Dubai Downtown Hotel.

 

SOS Children’s Villages International, the international social development organisation that cares for orphaned and abandoned children, aims to raise awareness of the care, education, health and developmental needs of vulnerable Arab children who have lost parental care. The Suhoor, named Usrat Al Amal or Family of Hope will bring together corporate and community stakeholders to join in the spirit of giving.
 
Mariam Farag, Head of CSR at MBC Group, commented “MBC Al Amal has been a long-term supporter of SOS Children’s Villages - we recognise the essential role the organisation plays in providing support and care for children without parental care. With the current socio-economic challenges facing the region, we all have a responsibility to support our neighbours and in particular children and youth. The Usrat Al Amal Suhoor is an opportunity to shine a light on how we can all make a positive change in child’s future, hence raise awareness of the social deprivation and daily needs of those less fortunate children. We eagerly aim to harness Ramadan’s spirits of benevolence and good will to inspire others and urge them to support the organisation in all means possible.”
 
SOS Children’s Villages International operates in 135 countries around the world, including 25 locations across nine countries in the Middle East region. All donations and contributions from this event will support the sponsorship of the health, educational, social development and emergency needs for an SOS child, family or a village in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

Evening entertainment includeda solo performance by Carole, an SOS youth from SOS Children’s Village in Ksarnaba, Lebanon, who is a bright example of what children can achieve with the right support.
 
This event approved by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) permit number 1067.
