UAE- Over 30000 attend humanitarian day celebrations

SOS Children’s Villages Gulf Area Office marks the day and participates in IHC activities in The Dubai Mall.
Over 30000 people have participated in s World Humanitarian Day (WHD) activities held cross key landmarks in Dubai.
Under the patronage of UN Messenger of Peace and Chairperson of International Humanitarian City (IHC) Princess Haya bint Al Hussein wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai the IHC joined global celebrations of the 2015 WHD with its largest social media campaigns to encourage international humanitarian activities.

The celebration began at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and then moved to the Dubai Airport and concluded at The Dubai Mall where there was live screening of WHD social media interactions.

The programmes were attended by a number of representatives from partners including representative from SOS Children’s Villages and many other organizations and entities.

Artists’ representative of the media including TV representatives and other distinguished guests also participated in the programmes.

WHD was launched by the UN in 2008 to raise awareness about humanitarian efforts around the world as well as recognise sacrifices of aid workers across the world.
